5 things to do while drinking great beer in 2016

By Anna Fischer It’s February in Toronto, which means it’s going to take a little more than "Hey, let’s meet for drinks!" to get you out of the house. Here are 5 activities that pair well with a great pint.

Playing with Lego

Children of the 80’s, rejoice! Your childhood and adulthood are about to collide, because The Gladstone Hotel is now hosting a weekly ‘Lego and Lagers’ event. Live the dream every Tuesday night, and enjoy a pint while building a lego fortress with your friends. Currently on offer: Sidelaunch, Steamwhistle, Beau’s Lugtread

Throwing Axes

If you haven’t heard of the Backyard Axe Throwing League yet, you’re behind the times. Join up and throw weekly, or book the space for a party, and get in touch with your inner lumberjack. The best part? It’s BYOB, (Cans only, no glass. Safety first, apparently?) so you can bring whatever you like.

Bowling

Good news, everyone! Bowling is cool again. Nothing brings a group of people closer together than wearing silly shoes while make total fools of yourselves. So pull together a posse, and book a lane. My pick? The Ballroom. Currently on offer: Steamwhistle

Ping Pong

Whether you’re a total beginner, or a serious player, Spin Toronto is the perfect spot to play ping pong with your friends. You can book a table by the hour or half hour, and enjoy great craft beer while you get your pong on. Currently on offer: Left Field, Hopsta La Vista, Brickworks Cider

Settlers of Catan

Or, you know, pretty much any other board game of your choosing. Hit up Snakes and Lattes for hours of gaming, they’ve got over 1000 different games to choose from, and a great lineup of craft beer options. Currently on offer: Collective Arts, Oast House, Amsterdam, Muskoka
