While attending university, Adam Dubeau was always the guy in charge of the music. Being the DJ on houseboat trips or at local parties was just a hobby, but at the urging of a friend he started to do more until he was ready to venture out on his own. “When I got into this, I looked around at all the other DJs and decided I didn’t want to undercut anyone. I wanted to offer a premium service and charge a livable wage,” says Adam. He left his job as a conductor with CP Rail and started Phoenix Pro Sound in 2008.
Adam felt he could offer something that wasn't available from other DJs in southern Alberta, and that meant expanding his services beyond playing dance tunes. “I’m quite involved with event design, doing lighting and master of ceremonies duties as well. I’ve put quite a bit of training and education into doing what I do. What sets me apart is I’m committed to doing it and I’m not just doing it for beer money.”
