The company was founded in 1924 by René Perron, the grandfather of the current owner, Jacques Perron. It's the third generation of Perrons that run the company today, and the story may well continue, since Jacques' son, Marc-André, has co-owned the company since 2015.
As a teenager, Jacques didn't have to look far to find a summer job; he would work alongside his father on roofs for the family business. That said, he never thought he'd be doing it for a living, as he was studying law at the time. "When I was 18, my father fell ill, so I came to work in the business and eventually decided to stay put."
