Hornepayne has much to offer whether you are here to stay or just here for a short visit. Hornepayne has 3 elementary schools which includes English catholic, french catholic and English public. Education does not stop there as we also have a brand new state of the art English secondary school. Hornepayne has two major employers being CN and Olav Haavaldsrud Company.
The Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation is a not-for-profit, non-share capital corporation that manages the Greater Sudbury Airport (YSB). The Greater Sudbury Airport is one of Northern Ontario's busiest and is currently served by Air Canada, Bearskin Airlines, Porter Airlines, WestJet and Sunwing Airlines. Air Canada and WestJet offer daily flights to and from Toronto's Pearson International Airport, which provide worldwide connections, while Porter Airlines offers daily service to and from downtown’s Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, which connects passengers to various Canadian and U.S. destinations. Regular scheduled flights provided by Bearskin Airlines offer air service to and from many Northeastern Ontario centres. Sunwing Airlines offers flights from Greater Sudbury to various sun destinations from November to April.

The Municipality of Greenstone was created on January 1, 2001 by the amalgamation of the former municipalities of the Town of Geraldton, Town of Longlac, the Township of Nakina and the Township of Beardmore, and an extensive area of unincorporated territory including numerous settlement areas such as; Caramat, Jellicoe and MacDiarmid. First Nation communities within Greenstone municipal boundaries are Long Lake 58, Lake Nipigon Ojibway, Rocky Bay and Sand Point, while Aroland and Ginoogaming First Nations are situated just outside the Municipality, adjacent to the wards of Nakina and Longlac, respectively. Greenstone is located in the District of Thunder Bay and has an area of 3,172 sq. km. (1224 sq. mi.) making it one of the largest municipalities in Canada.
