ARIEL is a not-for-profit art council dedicated to supporting the arts community in Elliot Lake, Ontario.  We help art and culture groups through marketing, grants, coordination, networking and advertising and advocacy.

We know there are many choices out there when it comes to school photographers - established and new - thus the importance of making an educated choice. Not all school photographers are created equal, nor do they all have the ability to deliver consistent quality at an affordable price.we've been 'capturing smiles' since 1968, but we're keeping up with technology. Did you know that Photo Art was the first school photography company in Canada to be 100% digital? In September 2000, Photo Art rolled-out a breakthrough in school photography by being the first company to integrate digital technology from picture taking to printing. This allows us to produce more photographs at faster turn-around rates, and it's all done in-house with our team of software engineers.

Our staff offer of the highest standard of tuition with a genuine lineage to Chinese Masters and the some of the highest ranking martial artists in the world. A recognised lineage is essential if you want to train in a REAL traditional Chinese Martial Art. After your free week the cost of each class is £5.00We do offer a monthly membership as an alternative if you train often saving money too, which gives you unlimited access to our full timetable. If you are training more than a few sessions per week then this would be the best option.

THE ART HIVEThe Art Hive is an exciting multi disciplinary arts enterprise located in the historical Welch's General Store. Since it opened in June 2007, it has been a hub of the Haliburton County's Art Community.ake advantage of this opportunity for your artwork to be retailed in a unique atmosphere and a prime tourist location at a reasonable rate.The Art Hive provides a retail outlet for the members of the Maple Lake Artisans Collective. As part of the responsibilities of collective membership, artists are required to staff the store and participate in running the business.For your application to be eligible you must have local residency in Haliburton County, go through a jurying process and sign a one year contract.

Cultural CentreArts, Heritage, & NatureThe Minden Hills Cultural Centre is a 4 acre area in downtown Minden that houses the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, the Minden Hills Museum, Nature's Place and the Minden Hills Branch of the Haliburton County Public Library . The Agnes Jamieson Gallery is a public art gallery offering visual art exhibitions year-round. The gallery's collection consists primarily of artwork by Andre Lapine. Minden Hills Museum & Pioneer Village reflects pioneer life in the mid to late 19th Century. It consists of seven structures, five of which are original local heritage buildings that have been relocated to the museum grounds. Feature exhibits are located in the Sterling Bank Building- Minden's first bank. Nature's Place holds the estate of Ron Douglas Lawrence, a well-recognized Canadian naturalist and wildlife author. Lawrence's life and books are displayed through changing exhibitions. The Centre grounds also offer a labyrinth, gift shops, walking trails and tours.The Minden Hills Cultural Centre is owned and operated by the Township of Minden Hills.
