My Spirit name is Zaagiidgeaway Gabo (Standing near the top of a hill). I am 68 year old Ojibway Elder, artist , Musician & Traditional Healer from Temagami First Nation Bear Island On, P0H1C0 I lived my early childhood in the traditional native way on our family trap-line on Lake Temagami, hunting, fishing and Trapping. During the winter months I learned about our lifestyle and spiritual ways through the Elders and Medicine People, Storytelling and spiritual teachings were given to me by my Grandfathers, Grandmothers and parents.
Col Mitchell originals are showcased in a working studio accompanied by apparel and accessories inspired by select original works. Through her original technique of pen and ink on sculpted paper Canadian Contemporary Paper Artist Col Mitchell fluidly melds texture with intricately layered lines of colour, creating magical impressions of the beauty and mystery of nature and wildlife. An international award winning artist Mitchell’s work has featured in Times Square NYC; the 2010 G8-G20 Summit Media Centre, Toronto; online and print magazines; art publications; popular art blogs; and juried global exhibitions.
Christie Best Pearson Anderson (NOAA) is a Canadian fine artist with a rural Ontario background. Her mediums of choice are watercolour, graphite and coloured pencil as well as oil pastel. Her subject matter is varied – from landscapes, to portraits and figurative, from animals, both domestic and wild, to still life. Christie has had her work exhibited throughout Northeastern Ontario in many solo and group exhibitions and purchased by collectors within Canada, United States and abroad.
