Our mission is to preserve and promote the heritage of the community and the region through the development and operation of educational focused facilities. We endeavor to preserve and maintain a traditional historic fishing village while enhancing it's profile and appeal. We intend to accomplish our goals by developing projects that provide the opportunity for everyone to experience coastal Newfoundland, both in a hands on manner and in a more historical museum type manner.
The Eastern Region Committee Against Violence (ERCAV) is one of ten Regional Coordinating Committees under the Provincial Violence Prevention Initiative. We are a non-profit, volunteer committee, made up of individuals from both government and community, that meets regularly in the Clarenville-Bonavista area of Newfoundland to discuss issues relating to violence. The Eastern Region Commitee Against Violence encourages a community approach to violence prevention. The committee brings together government departments and community groups to find ways to improve services for victims of violence and to raise awareness about issues of violence in our communities. We believes that we all share responsibility in violence prevention
