Our storefront is reminiscent of the old west with large wooden beams holding up the front overhang and a rustic wood engraved sign. Corlane Sporting Goods Ltd. new location as of July 2007 is just northwest of the traffic circle in Dawson Creek, BC where the Alaska Highway intersects with Highways 2 and 49. You can take pictures of the world famous Mile 0 Post just three blocks away. See real grizzly bear paw castings in the concrete posts on both sides of the entrance. The front door handles are made of elk antler that feels solid and warm even on the coldest day. Just inside the building there is a customer photo brag wall and beyond that your jaw drops to the floor as you enter a sportsman's dream. This is truly a must see destination for tourists and sportsmen. Above your head the collection of big horn sheep includes a life size ram on a rock. To your right a long row of firearms and ammunition sets the stage for the caribou, elk, moose, mule deer, whitetails and cougar that line the north wall. In the reloading corner you'll find a black bear rug, antelope, and yet another life size ram. There is a polar bear above the archery section and a great display of local and exotic varieties of fish above the fishing section. Behind the main till is an assortment of outdoor themed giftware and look up for a flock of birds on the east wall. As you walk amongst the game heads, the photos and the people in the aisles you can hear the faint sound of a milling machine coming from the gunshop. That my friends is the sound of experience. It is the labor and heart of a thousand hunts lived and breathed in a land nearly forgotten by time.
