Kettlemans Bagel opened in Ottawa in August of 1993. When the business started, our mission was to make the best bagels you could find.
By rolling, kettling, and baking traditional Montreal Bagel in a wood-burning oven using hand-picked hardwood, and maintaining an unwavering commitment to the traditional quality of the food, we have become a food institution 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year for over 25 years. However, tradition does not mean much if the authenticity is gone.
They have a large selection of bagels, cheese spreads and sandwiches. Always fresh and the service is courteous and prompt. If you get a dozen or more bagels ask for freezer bags to keep them fresh, but they are so good you may not get to freeze them!Read more
Patisserie L'Étoile opened in December 2010, and is owned and run by pastry chefs Sami Gerges and Shannon Lozinski. They wanted to offer the area creative products with high-quality ingredients, like they would want to eat themselves. They have many years of experience and are always willing to accommodate special requests from customers.
My name is Monique Bonhomme and I always loved to bake cakes, cupcakes and pies while I was growing up. I developed an interest in learning how to decorate cakes, cookies and cupcakes a long time ago but never took the steps to learn until 10 years ago. I registered in the Wilton Method classes and instantly fell in love with the art of cake decorating. Since completing the 4 courses, I have enrolled in the Pastries program at Algonquin College to obtain my Patissier degree and also continue to develop my skills of cake decorating by taking advanced classes at various venues in order to learn the latest techniques.
As well as baking cakes for my family and friends, I decided to become a Wilton Method Instructor five years ago.
I strongly believe that cakes should not only taste great but should look amazing. All sugar flowers and sculptures are handmade and edible. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss ideas, obtain a quote or obtain additional information.
