The Society of Richmond Children's Centres was founded in 1995 by a small group of community volunteers. The Society opened its first children's centre in Terra Nova in 1996. Since that date, the Society has opened the Cook Road and the Bowling Green Road Children's Centres. A dedicated group of community and family members make up our board of directors and oversee the operation of the Society.
The Pacific Indoor Bowls Club officially began in 1938. The original depression-era facility, located on the corner of 19th Ave and Main St, was constructed for under $15,000 thanks to community support. The club was popular right from the start: there have never been less than 200 names on the membership roster. PIBC has something for everyone: coaching for members looking to learn; fun leagues and events for less competitive players and competitive leagues for the die-hard bowlers.
