The Society of Richmond Children's Centres was founded in 1995 by a small group of community volunteers. The Society opened its first children's centre in Terra Nova in 1996. The Pacific Indoor Bowls Club officially began in 1938. The original depression-era facility, located on the corner of 19th Ave and Main St, was constructed for under $15,000 thanks to community support. The club was popular right from the start: there have never been less than 200 names on the membership roster. PIBC has something for everyone: coaching for members looking to learn; fun leagues and events for less competitive players and competitive leagues for the die-hard bowlers.
