Large crowd gathered at Memorial Hall Tea Room for a meeting with the Pool committee, representatives from the pool company, members of Town Council and of the RM's of Arlington and White Valley. It was explained to the crowd that the Eastend Pool is no longer viable for public use. We have a choice of getting a 'new' pool which does not include a deep end or a diving board but does include a nice splash park (thank you, Kinsmen), or of raising funds to pay for a repair and retrofit to make our pool adhere to current pool standards so that we can keep the deep end and diving board (and presumably still build the Splash park). It was suggested by a few participants that the money previously raised/donated/earmarked for the splash park could instead be used to make our current pool up to standards without incurring a heavy burden of debt from the additional work of making the splash park.
