Seaside Communications was founded in 1979 and provides Analog, Digital and HD Cable TV, Telephone, and High-Speed Internet services to cable subscribers in Glace Bay, New Waterford, Louisbourg, Baddeck, St. Peter's and several other Cape Breton communities. Sister Company: Seaside High-Speed is one of two companies contracted to implement the province of Nova Scotia's rural broadband project, which has expanded high speed Internet access throughout the province. Seaside High-Speed serves rural portions of Cumberland, Colchester, Halifax, Pictou, Antigonish, Guysborough, and the four counties of Cape Breton. Seaside Communications and Seaside High-Speed were created by Cape Breton entrepreneur Irving Schwartz who passed away September 2010.

CRRS (Community Recreation Rebroadcasting Service) is a not-for-profit organization that serves the communities of Labrador City and Wabush. The organization is a community-based co-operative governed by an elected volunteer-basis board of directors. With a history dating back to 1979, CRRS has grown to be a communications leader in Labrador West, offering the area a full suite of television and Internet services at very competitive prices. CRRS TV operates its Community Channel 3 for broadcasting public service announcements, local weather, emergency messages, as well as covering live events such as the Labrador West Regatta, Legion Telethon, Menihek High School Graduation, White-Wolf Snowmobile Club's races, political debates, and various school and sporting events.
