Joy Deneen is a calligrapher and artist, specializing in modern calligraphy and hand lettered details for special events. She currently serves as the Vice President and International Workshops Coordinator for La Société des calligraphes de Montréal. She is the editor of the Society for Calligraphy’s annual publication The Calligraph and is also a regular contributor for UPPERCASE magazine. Joy has been drawing ever since she could hold a pencil. She finds inspiration from a wide range of sources, including children’s literature, decorated envelopes, book covers, hand painted signs and street art. Originally from California, Joy and her husband relocated from Los Angeles to Montréal in 2013.
