This value defines our adoption policies.We also believe the quality of animal lives is important. We will not force an animal to endure pain and suffering through illness or injury that cannot be treated with reasonable success. Upon the recommendation of one or more veterinarians, we will compassionately end an animal's life to relieve suffering.We also will not maintain animals with a high level of aggression that pose significant risks to shelter workers, potential adopters and the general public.Because of this policy, we refer to ourselves as a for life shelter instead of a no-kill shelter. However, in keeping with the principals of no-kill shelters, we do not use euthanasia as a form of population control or a way of dealing with long-term shelter residents, animals with special needs or imperfections.

Angel's Haven has been owned and operated by Jennifer Lysak, a former Registered Animal Health Technologist and Certified Veterinary Assistant, for the past ten years. Our guests are kept in a home environment where they live and sleep with us. We do not kennel nor are we separated from our guests at night. Cat Tails Rescue is a no-kill shelter saving stray or abandoned cats and kittens from living on the street and adopting them to loving homes. Cat Tails Rescue serves the North End of Winnipeg where the need is greatest. We provide temporary interim housing, vet assessment and shelter care and socializationfor stray or abandoned felines until they are adopted. We are the only shelter located in the North End of Winnipeg. We also take in feral cats and kittens to socialize them for adoption, as time and space permits.
