The Barrie Literacy Council was founded in 1979 by local Barrie, Ontario resident, Connie Morgan to assist adults improve their basic reading writing and math skills. We currently provide one-to-one tutoring and small group learning sessions. Independent students receive assistance from staff while they wait to be matched with a volunteer tutor.

Transformational Tutoring is committed to providing the necessary basic tools in a way that promotes functional literacy so that we can create within individuals an effortless ability to function within society where they have previously felt paralyzed in this area of their lives. This business is more than just a tutoring service. I want to serve as a mentor to make a difference in peoples' lives. We founded our first Inspiration Learning Center in Toronto in 2003 and have since expanded to six learning centers in the GTA with two home-away-from-home, residential, home-stay houses.Our learning centers offer excellent, professional tutoring services from highly skilled and dedicated teachers who have had many years of experience in their fields. We believe that every student can reach their full academic potential and develop a true love of and thirst for learning if they receive the right support, and that the tried and tested way to ensure this is by taking a student-centered approach to our teaching methods.
