Welcome to the Woodcreek Community and the Woodcreek Community Association. As a Community Association we offer Woodcreek residents a variety of social, cultural and recreational programs for both children and adults. We also have facilities for event space to rent.The Woodcreek Community Association is growing to meet the changing needs of the community. Come and check us out.

The community employs a fulltime Public Works Employee, a fulltime Community Administrative Officer, a certified parttime Water Operator, a Community Constable, a parttime Recreation Director, and a Rink Operator. Volunteer Fire DepartmentWaterhen has its own volunteer Fire Department. Approximately 20 volunteer Fire Fighters are with the department, who do ongoing training twice monthly under the direction of Fire Chief John Mark Taylor.Waterhen currently owns 1 fire truck, and 1 rescue and water tanker truck.

Lake Winnipeg has played a vital role in shaping the island community of Matheson Island right from the beginning of time, and it continues to do so even until the present.We are located at the end of Provincial Road #234, which connects with Provincial Highway #8. The community is connected with the mainland by the Ingemar Carlson II Cable Ferry, or in the winter months by a winter road. It's only a short ferry ride across, or a 1.6 km winter road.
