The community employs a fulltime Public Works Employee, a fulltime Community Administrative Officer, a certified parttime Water Operator, a Community Constable, a parttime Recreation Director, and a Rink Operator. Volunteer Fire DepartmentWaterhen has its own volunteer Fire Department. Approximately 20 volunteer Fire Fighters are with the department, who do ongoing training twice monthly under the direction of Fire Chief John Mark Taylor.Waterhen currently owns 1 fire truck, and 1 rescue and water tanker truck.
Mental Health Support Program Cope Provide Support Program To Mental Health Participants That Are Referred From Nipawin And Area. Provides Recreational Support And Prevocational Experience.Summer Regional Camp For Mental Health Participants.Child Development And Nutrition Program To Promote Good Nutrition Practices For Children, Help Develop Independent Living Skills For Children And Their Families, And Provide Opportunities For Communities To Take Ownership Of Local Food Security Initiatives That Enhance Child Nutrition And Development.Culture And Cree Language Programs And Activities Included In All Youth Programming And In Other Programs, Newsletters And Activities As Much As Possible At The Oasis And In The Community.
