We're Canada’s underground opera. We expand what opera can mean, and we believe that opera can be many things to many people. We nurture new creations, new creators, and the next generation of artists. We make new opera in Toronto. Tapestry was founded in 1979, and we’re the only Canadian company solely dedicated to creating and performing original Canadian opera. We have a mandate to create powerful opera that reflects and changes the world around us, bringing together art forms, creators, and communities to create boundary-pushing work.
