My name is Nettie and I live with my four sons, two daughters-in-law and a grandson in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Over thirty years ago, I started in the Netherlands my study of Computer Science and worked for three and a half years for a Dutch computer company where I worked, alongside my co-workers of the technical department, solving our customers computer problems. I also was a teacher of Horizontal Software which I continued to be when I started my own business and taught my clients in their own home on their own computer. When my sons attended the elementary school I assisted their teachers with the Computer Science lessons. It was great to watch my kids in their school environment for a couple of hours a week, learning the skills they still use, now they’re in BCIT or VIU, running their own business or doing their jobs.
