Our funeral home in Perth is located at 15 Gore Street West. We are proud to be an independent family funeral home, in our fourth generation of family service. We serve the communities of Perth, Smiths Falls, Lanark and surrounding communities. Our funeral home in Perth is the third oldest continually operated facility in Ontario, founded in 1836. The Blair family involvement began in the early 1900’s when Alex Blair purchased a share from David Hogg and went into partnership with the Thompson family. Shortly thereafter, he purchased the remaining portion of the business. The funeral home has evolved many times over the years beginning as a part of the furniture store. In 1939 the current chapel was constructed with additions coming in the 70’s and 80’s. In 2002 a milestone occurred with the construction of a new home furnishings facility on Highway 7 at the eastern end of Perth.
Serving families since 1850, Cataraqui Cemetery is a rural garden cemetery offering monument, cremation and cemetery services to the greater Kingston area.
"You are our first priority at James Reid Funeral Home, Crematorium & Reception Centre. Your wishes will be followed, whether for cremation alone or cremation or burial with a gathering; for photos with favourite music playing during a visitation or a memorial reception; or for wine and beer or lemonade and tea at your Celebration of Life. Cookies are on us, as are After Care Coordinators who help with the estate paperwork and the journey of grief. We come to your house when your loved one has died, meet you when you're ready to discuss what's next, and walk with you through all that needs doing and that can be done to respect your budget and your personality. We have been making difficult times easier for a long time (165+ years)"
