We ordered some chicken schnitzel yesterday for a family event. This place have the best schnitzels. Absolutely worth it. We will order from Metro restaurant again. The meat was soft, the order was ready, quite happy.

I've been to this restaurant twice now and both times the food has been great. But I was there with my husband's family last night for my father-in-law's birthday. My mother-in-law had brought a birthday cake to the restaurant and had asked them to bring it out as a surprise when it was time for dessert. Everything was going great until the server informed my mother-in-law (just before they were about to bring his birthday cake out) that we would be charged $10 just for them to bring it out! We said forget it, and we took the cake home and had it there! We would have ordered coffees and cafe au laits to go with the cake, so they certainly would have made at least another $20 off of that, but it's their loss I guess.
So to summarize, the food was excellent as usual, but we were very disappointed that they wouldn't accommodate our birthday cake with out a steep charge - it left a bad taste in our mouth.

Nothing Polish or Eastern European about this place. 100% Portuguese owned and only Poruguese food, some of the best takeout in Toronto. From the chicken (on the grill or on the spit) to the suckling pig to the codfish plates its all amazing and authentic.

Amulet restaurant and banquet hall is a popular Russian place for special events, food is top notch and the atmosphere very festive. I've seen many birthdays and russian style parties take place here, its common for weddings too, and so far every one I've talked to has been very satisfied with this place. I am considering it for my own birthday party in a few months! I posted pics which I took just before a birthday party was about to take place, the cold appetizers were already on the table, but the other foods were not out just yet. The centerpieces are provided by the florist and not included by the restaurant. Hope the pics help, food presentation is amazing too!!!
