New Era, Fresh Leadership for SREDASASKATOON – The Board of Directors of the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA) today announced the appointments of Alex L. Fallon as President and Chief Executive Officer and Jim George as Chief Operating Officer. Fallon will join SREDA as CEO on September 10, 2014. George will assume his new role after a year serving as the organization's Vice President, Business Development and acting as interim President and CEO.'We are thrilled to welcome Alex to our organization and delighted that Jim will continue with SREDA in his new and expanded role,' said Bruce Richet, Chair of SREDA. As President & CEO, Alex will lead SREDA to promote ourregion's economic growth.As Chief Operating Officer, George will focus on SREDA's operations and new opportunities to create value for members drawing on his past experience as business advisor and technology entrepreneur. Prior to joining SREDA, George, a professional engineer, served as Director of Competitive Intelligence for SpringBoard West Innovations Inc., helping technology--based companies secure investment, build capacity and bring their technologies to market.Created in 1992, SREDA is one of the first independent economic development agencies in Canada.
