Unlike other reviewers' experience, the service we received was exemplary - friendly, attentive and fast. Food showed imagination, especially the crab croquettes with a spicy sauce surround them. Ingredient quality was beyond reproach and everything was cooked to the degree as ordered them, no overcooking here at all. Definitely going back there again this year. Read more

For 30 years Brownes Bistro has been a staple in Rosedale. Cherished by the neighbourhood's affluent denizens as well as lovers from all over Toronto, this restaurant's satisfying and sophisticated fare is what keeps its quaint tables in high demand. A classic bistro menu pays homage to all things French, including fresh creations conceived daily. Warm hardwood, oak paneling and crisp linens create an unmistakably European ambiance, while an excellent selection of wines will have you reaching for obscure adjectives in no time. With its hospitality and its low-key locale, without a doubt Brownes Bistro will be around for another 20 years.
Brownes Bistro offers delicious meals, cozy ambiance, and attentive service, making every visit a delightful experience. Read more

We've been to the Granite Brewery a number of times as the food is always fantastic with generous portions. In addition to the delicious food, they have a good selection of their own brews. We especially enjoyed their Ringwood, a delightful blonde. There are different atmospheres for different tastes, but at the Granite Brewery they have several to choose from. Two excellent patios, a bar, and a family restaurant area, all designed for comfort. The rear patio looks particularly amazing, but as it was raining, we'll just have to wait until next time to try it out. It should also be noted that the Granite Brewery has free parking with easy access. The Granite Brewery gets our highest recommendation and we will be back soon. Read more
Mill St. Brewery officially opened in December 2002. The brewery began in an original tank house within the historic Gooderham & Worts Distillery complex, now known as the Historic Distillery District. Built in the late 1870s, the building is a well preserved example of classic Victorian industrial architecture. In 2013 Mill St. Brewery added a new dimension to the Mill St. Brew Pub family with the launch of The Beer Hall. Jump Restaurant invites you to their establishment. They are open late from Monday to Friday. You can get there not only by public transit but also by bicycle. They are in a lively neighborhood known for its nightlife.
Even a snowstorm doesn't keep Toronto diners down, as we discovered last weekend at Jump in January. It was quieter than usual due to the weather, but our food was very good. We had an extremely affable waiter from England. The service started out a bit slow, with water poured and wine ordered but 25 minutes before some bread arrived. If we hadn't been so hungry beforehand we might not have noticed. Otherwise, the food was excellent. The Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Quail appetizer was absolutely delicious. The Wild & Tame Mushroom Soup was good, but as we told our server, it needed some cream to give it more depth and round out the taste. The Mahogany-Glazed Black Cod with Lentils was very good, and my partner had the delicious Beef Tenderloin. We'll come back again, but the pacing is a bit slow, so you can't be in a hurry if you're dining here. Read more
