Visited this little farm and attached Dunham Froese winery while in Osoyoos last week. Missed the turn off the first time, but glad we turned around to check it out. The staff and service were great. Tried some of the baked goods – muffins and cookies – and they were fresh and tasty! The lunch menu looked awesome as well, but we didn’t have time to stay, so we’ll definitely be checking it out next year. The produce selection was unique…and fabulous. You must try the yellow-flesh watermelon if you get a chance, it’s so yummy! The cucumbers and tomatoes were delicious as well.
The winery that is part of the farm was a wonderful find! Dunham Froese is definitely worth a try if you’re doing the wine route in the area! They have both a fabulous white and a red! We all walked away with several bottles to drink now and some for the cellar!
Check this little gem out for sure, for both lunch, produce and wine!

Very pretty winery. If you want to taste the wine at this winery you need to book ahead to do a tour - they don't do walk in tastings...would have loved to try the wine though!

Having grown grapes for the last 20 years we have established ourselves as one of the premier grape growers in the valley. Our story started with our family immigrating from India in the 1990's and making Okanagan our home. We have always worked to establish ourselves as hard working and determined family.
The name Kismet is derived from the Punjabi word 'destiny'. We consider ourselves lucky to be able to consider Canada our home that provided us with endless possibilities. This has been a long time dream of our family to share our labour of love and hard work directly with customers.

Our winery is owned and operated by John and Maria Ferreira; both born in Portugal, immigrated to Canada with their families at a young age. We purchased this estate in 1979 as an orchard where we grew cherries, peaches and apples. Coming from a Portuguese heritage our passion of wine led us to convert our orchard into a vineyard after 20 years in production and packaging of fruit. The conversion of fruit to wine was done over a three-year period with the first merlot and chardonnay grapes being planted in 1999, additional varietals followed.
Our landscape and fabulous soil have allowed for us to have optimal growing conditions for grapes. The Black Sage Bench is well-known for producing excellent quality grapes due to desert climate temperatures and desert terrain. These conditions allow for us to produce fabulous wines. Today our vineyard is in full production featuring varietals including Merlot, Chardonnay, Syrah, Viognier, Melbec and most recent Zinfandel and Petit Verdot.
