Picking your own saskatoon berries has never been easier than at our orchard, Prairieberry.. Just a short drive from Calgary city limits, our family-run 10 acre U-Pick saskatoon farm is open for the season from around mid-July to about mid-August…a perfect time to get out of the city and enjoy the mountain views at the orchard near Indus. Bring your whole family and fill your buckets with the lush saskatoons you can use to bake in those lovely pies and other goodies, like topping, pie-filling, syrup... We’ll have pails for picking your berries at $2 each and lids for $1 each, but we do encourage you to bring your own 4-L ice-cream containers, with a handle if possible. In no time you’ll have plenty of saskatoons to bake, blend or just eat by the handful. We still charge only $15 per 4-L (1 gallon) pail for U-Pick or $20 for a 5 lb box of quick frozen saskatoons (approx. 4L) if you don’t want to pick 'em yourself.
