The International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, the biggest gathering of balloons in Canada, is a major event for all the family. With an average of 450,000 visitors per year, the event's popularity has risen steadily throughout the years and employs a strategy based on three essential elements: the enchantment of Laurentian Bank hot air balloon flights and Night Glows, free animation for the whole family, and major shows nightly. There are 125 hot air balloons, including many special shapes, major shows, and a huge site that hosts an incredible variety of animation activities.

The festival will feature an intimate full-scale live band production of artists from a wide range of reggae and reggae-influenced genres of music, such as dancehall, soca, reggaeton, as well as afro-beat, konpa, and zouk. Artists from the province of Quebec and across Canada, will also have special performances during the festivities.
The Festival has opened the doors to talented young musicians who are still unknown to the public, something nobody has done before. Among these are the 18-year-old Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki, now known worldwide; Jonathan Crow, now concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra; and the Afiara String Quartet, Laureat of the prestigious Banff International String Quartet competition.
