The Lower North Shore Community Seafood Cooperative was founded by fishers and workers from the area. It received its cooperation charter in 1991, opened officially for business in 1992, and as been open every year since. For the first few years cod was the main species purchased but in 1994 we started buying snow crab. We now buy Snow Crab, Cod, Lobster, Greenland Halibut (turbot), Atlantic Halibut, Scallops, Herring and Lump Roe
