I had a delicious meal at Deerhurst. My steak was cooked perfectly and my salad was divine. Our server was excellent and the decor was beautiful. My only complaint was that the atmosphere was too loud. We had dinner on a Saturday night and the place was packed. Due to the high ceilings we could hardly hear each other.

The resort is located on the shores of Beautiful Peninsula (Pen) Lake. The Museum was founded as the Haliburton Highlands Pioneer Museum in 1967, as a Canadian Centennial project to commemorate the early pioneers of the area. The Rotary Club and a committee of interested citizens were behind it, including Ron Curry of Curry Motors fame & founder of the Rotary Club of Haliburton. Prominent as well were Haliburton school teachers Margaret Sisson & Clara 'Kell' Andison.
