Anderson's Funeral Home in Windsor Ontario has always been superior in service. I have lost count of the number of family members and friends who have been buried or cremated from the familiar premises. I have watched for over fifty years as their elegant decor has been updated and modernized...several times. On my last visit I noticed that staff created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere...professional but approachable. When I was a child, there was a stiff formality of demeanour expected of all funeral staff and Anderson's staff was no exception. My memory is of black clad and sombre men, efficient and invisible as butlers. Today the staff may still wear professional colours...but the Anderson's face is as likely to be female as male...and perhaps just a little more forthcoming and helpful.
My only concern is the difficulty in locating a website specifically for them, or a place to leave messages for relatives of the deceased. If funeral homes in small towns can have such services, why not Anderson's? Or perhaps they do and I just can't locate the website.
