Blake Funeral Chapel Limited has been locally owned and family operated since 1924. The Funeral Chapel was built in 1935 by George E. Blake. It was designed with classical proportions, reminiscent of the regency style. This two storey brick and stone building is accentuated by a hip-roof, dormer, and round arch windows that are arranged symmetrically around the main entrance. Designed by R.E. Mason, this building was constructed by general contractor, John Wishart. The Funeral Chapel is conveniently located in downtown Thunder Bay, on the corner of May and Donald streets. The facility is accessible and has parking for 80 cars. We take pride in being flexible in all arrangements, whether that be a traditional service or an alternative form of service. We provide personalized choices and do so with pride and sensitivity, all the while helping you make your decisions affordable.
