Kids & Us Community Childcare is a private non-profit registered charity, operating seven childcare daycare sites in south Grey and Bruce Counties. It is governed by a board of directors, made up of parents and community members. Kids & Us Community Childcare is also a host agency for the Ontario early years program, offering family education programs and support. Located just outside the “downtown” core in a large Victorian house, Unity House Nursery School provides a home-like atmosphere, including home-cooked lunches. At Unity House we believe children learn through play therefore we strive to provide a stimulating play- filled day. Our philosophy is that each child should be valued for their own sake and we work to ensure that all of our children develop a positive self-image. Similarly, we encourage a love of life and learning, respect for others and the environment, all of which grows good citizens of the community and the world. Unity House Nursery School has been operating since 1989. Retirement of original owner, Ann Vos, in 2014 resulted in long time teacher Pam Hearn-Erb taking on the role of owner/director as well as a move to a new location and expansion.
