The Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation occupy Neyaashiinigmiing Indian Reserve No. 27 on the eastern shore of the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula on Georgian Bay. The nation is named 'Nawash' after Chief Nawash, who fought beside Tecumseh in the war of 1812. The present land base is 63.81 Km2. The community is approximately 26 Km from Wiarton, 64 Km from Owen Sound or 250 Km from Toronto. The purpose of this web site is to provide the Chippewas of Nawash with an effective means of communicating with Band membership and the general public, on a variety of issues. This site is also a portal to resources regarding the Saugeen Ojibway land claims, fisheries, and other joint resource management issues.

Our school started at this site in September of 1990.This is a program offered free of charge to our students which also provides high quality childcare free to those who need it.Transportation assistance is also available for those who qualify.The school is an incorporated registered charity formed for the purpose of assisting newcomers to Canada and is run by a Board of Directors. The Board is contracted and funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to provide Literacy to Level 4 English instruction using the LINC program.
