Quebec City Reading Council's mission is to provide literacy resources
and services in English that will educate and empower our learning
community.
Our programming is organized into two main categories: Adult Literacy
Services and Family Literacy Services. We support and encourage
parents to develop strong literacy skills in their child’s pre-school
years. We offer tutoring for adults seeking assistance with Essential
Skills such as reading, writing, mathematics and computer skills. We
also offer educational opportunities for English-speaking seniors 50+
in our Lifelong Learning Programme in the Québec City area and
participate in/organize a number of community events each year.
We recruit and train volunteers to deliver customized literacy
services to the population at large. Volunteers also support the
mission and mandate of the organization through targeted community
networking or taking a seat on the QCRC Board of Directors.
