This bookstore is a treasure. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. My only "complaint" is that I could not find their open hours anywhere on the Internet.

Established in 1947, The Haunted Bookshop is Vancouver Island’s oldest bookshop. Described in ‘Beautiful British Columbia’ magazine as ‘the sort of antiquarian bookstore bibliophiles dream about’, The Haunted actually caters to recreational readers wanting recent paperbacks and scholars seeking out-of-print material, as well as to collectors of rarities. Its carefully chosen stock includes books on most subjects, as well as unique ephemeral items, maps and prints. Member ABAC/ILAB.
The stock includes a wide variety of decorative engravings, botanicals, architecturals and natural history with historical views of towns and cities. We cover the world in our range of maps but tend to specialize in western Canada. Fine prints by Canadian, U.S. and International artists are also in stock.
