This was a neat place to visit. Took a guided tour here with the kids, started riding the the coal mine carts, and walked right through the old buildings and fixtures and got a real grasp of what this place was like as a real operating coal mine. Loved the fact that the guides gave the kids a photo "scavenger hunt" to go on while we were on the tour to keep them entertained.

If your children love dinosaurs as much as mine do, you HAVE to visit the Royal Tyrrell! The exhibits are awe-inspiring! Great photo opportunies in front of the large dinosaur fossils, not to mention the fantasic gift shop, interactive exhibits like a small fossil dig for kids, etc. The museum has undergone an overhaul in the past couple of years, and you won't be disappointed!
