This was a neat place to visit. Took a guided tour here with the kids, started riding the the coal mine carts, and walked right through the old buildings and fixtures and got a real grasp of what this place was like as a real operating coal mine. Loved the fact that the guides gave the kids a photo "scavenger hunt" to go on while we were on the tour to keep them entertained.Read more

I love Heritage park! Everyone who works there is very authentically dressed and they stay in character. If you get there early, I recommend you drop by the bakery, where they serve up fresh sour dough and French baguettes. I have talked to the baker there and she says that after 10 am they usually sell out. Afterwards, you should take a Ferry ride or go for a walk down gasoline alley. It is ideal for a first date as you can have a picnic along the grounds. Lots of parking as well! On a side note, they also host events and their events staff is more than accommodating.Read more
