Hello!
My name is John Cooper. I'm a professional musician and guitar teacher based in Sarnia, Ontario.
I teach beginner to advanced rhythm and lead techniques on electric and acoustic guitar. Individualized lessons include music theory and your choice of songs. I can teach you to read music, or to take simple notes with tablature and diagrams. Pick-hand techniques, timing and improvisation are among my specialties.
Half-hour weekly guitar lessons are available for all ages and skill levels, and one-hour lessons are available to all but very young beginners. Lessons take place in a small sound-insulated studio in downtown Sarnia.
GuitarJack.ca is my plug on the web to help new students find me, and to help current students with online resources.
If you have any questions, or would like to book a trial guitar lesson, please get in touch!

We are a not-for-profit, federally incorporated educational institution of professional musicians and volunteers that serves its clients through programs of study, training, examination, recognition and performance. Conservatory Canada's roots go back to 1891, when the London Conservatory was first founded. In 1910, the London Conservatory became affiliated with The University of Western Ontario and it became an examining Board. In 1915 that affiliation was dissolved, and in 1919 the Institute of Music Arts was founded (as a teaching institution). In 1922, the London Conservatory and Institute of Musical Arts amalgamated and existed until 1934, when they were incorporated under the name Western Ontario Conservatory of Music. The reach became truly national in 1997 through a merger with The Western Board of Music (established in 1934, serving all of western Canada, and based in Edmonton, Alberta).
The Academy of Music has been providing music lessons to London and area residents for over 40 years. Whatever your age, you can enjoy a private lesson in a professional studio atmosphere. Programs are designed to fulfill the needs of the individual. Competent and caring instructors will offer everything from Royal Conservatory of Music exam preparation to programs that will inspire any hobbyist. Need help with an upcoming audition or performance? Our dedicated staff will help you build the confidence you need to succeed.
