Welcome to the John Howard Society of the Lower Mainland of BC.We assist people impacted by criminal justice so that they can reclaim their lives, making everyone safer.We also offer support and housing to individuals with developmental disabilities who are at risk of homelessness or involvement in the criminal justice system, and who may have concurrent issues of mental health or addictions.

These four words are significant to our community as they remind us of some truths about who God is and who we want to be in response to him. Each word is explored a little below. Although we come as we are, we also believe that nobody is beyond the need or the power to be changed. We should expect to see transformation in our lives - it's what normally happens when you have a relationship with Jesus.

Subud is an international spiritual movement that began in Indonesia in the 1920 's. Its founder, Bapak Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo, was born in Central Java in 1901 and died in 1987.

Our 'low-barrier' services are inclusive and available to all individuals in need, regardless of their circumstances, and without conditions. Our broad and positive impact is a reflection of our staff's hard work and dedication.We must find solutions to end poverty and homelessness. Our services meet the immediate needs of individuals, while systematically building a foundation that strengthens community sustainability.
