The first school was built in 1901 at Pig's Ear with Henry Ridgewell as its janitor. It burnt and in its place was constructed a store and the school was located over the store. After she left, the two Page girls took charge of the school, followed by the Hart girls and later taken over by Mrs. Beulah Beatty.
