The food was oh so good! The service was excellent! We really loved our server Cristel, so very polite and pleasant. She even asked to take my coat when we entered the restaurant.

The entrance is hidden and small. You take the stairs up and open an old wooden door to enter a beautiful and elegant old-fashioned dining room. Live guitar plays intermittently in the background with some Portuguese songs.
We left our wine and food choices to our waiter, and we were not disappointed. The bottle of Portuguese Dona Maria was quite flavourful and fresh. The potato and kale soupe was just lovely. The seafood platter (which must be the Portuguese version of the paella) was very generous with everything from a whole lobster to mussels. While not spicy, it had no fishy smell to it at all. The deserts were as delightful. We left very happy.

The food, the service and the wine were outstanding. Original tapas, grilled fish and an excellent selection of privately imported Portuguese wines. Deserts were also impressive. Take the tasting menu, it's worth it. Bonus: valet parking. Book ahead to be safe.

Pour emporter ou pour manger sur place, le Barroso est un de mes spots à grillades préférés à Montréal. Les pommes de terres servies avec leur délicieux poulet sont incroyable. Le service est super bon et rapide. Je le recommande à tous!

We were welcome cordually and seated promptly, service was fast & friendly, but we had a coupon from Groupon (internet co) is why we tried the restaurant, but our bill came with a shock, they did the whole bill taxes, gratuity and all then hand wrote the discount on the computer generated bill after all was totaled. So buyer be aware coupons are not honoured as layed out in the original format.

Je passais dans le coins à 9h30 pour ramasser une superbe sandwich au roti de porc. Théoriquement pour diner mais.... pas capable d'attendre je l'ai mangée à 10h00 LOL.
Supers sandwich au porc et au poulet.
Leur poulet cuit sur broche est aussi un délice.
