The current structure follows the pattern employed by other Canadian Professionals – Architects, Engineers, Lawyers and the like – by maintaining a strong organisational and disciplinary body within the Province.In 2012, the Ontario Institute of Quantity Surveyors (OIQS) was renamed the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors – Ontario (CIQS – Ontario) in accordance with the national rebranding strategy. The CIQS – Ontario is an Affiliated Member of the CIQS and so retains a direct connection with its original roots.
