Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) is a teaching hospital located approximately 45 minutes south of Ottawa. The new WDMH opened in 2009, building on more than 60 years of caring for local communities. This included the redevelopment of obstetrics, surgery, emergency and inpatient care, and state of the art technology including a CT scanner and digital mammography. In 2012, WDMH's maternity service was named the number one recommended program in Ontario. WDMH is developing a Centre of Excellence for Rural Health and Education that brings together the hospital, physicians, nursing home and community services.
