Municipality of Lunenburg, Town of Mahone Bay and Town of BridgewaterThe Municipality of the District of Lunenburg, Town of Mahone and Town of Bridgewater have adopted clear bags for garbage collection. The Town of Mahone Bay has also adopted clear bags for recyclables. Changes were made to their Solid Waste Management By-laws to increase recycling and composting. Residents and businesses will be given several months to purchase clear bags.On October 1, 2014, all residents and businesses in the Municipality, Town of Mahone Bay and the Town of Bridgewater will be required to use colourless, clear bags, with an allowance for 1 privacy bag (black, dark green or white colored bag) per dwelling (household/ business), per collection.
