Shawne sings in Canada, U.S. and Europe. Resident soprano with fusion company Ooh Lah Lah Opera, Shawne created roles for topical shows and children's operas. As the sole proprietor of Singers' Studio, Heather Dufault has over twenty years' experience in performing and teaching singing in the Ottawa area. Prior to this, she studied and performed professionally as a singer and singing teacher for several years in Europe, and has worked with world-class teachers and performers on both sides of the Atlantic. This wealth of experience uniquely qualifies her to diagnose and remediate vocal problems, assist in establishing the foundations of excellent technique in the beginner, and share insight on performance style across a wide range of repertoire including classical and opera; musical theatre; and the many types of contemporary commercial/pop vocal styles. Emphasis is always on developing a natural and instinctive way of singing that permits the student to gain a deep understanding of their own voice and makes it easy for them to progress independently and confidently!
