Welcome to the new website for Mindful Speech Pathology. My name is Carolyn Gibbs and I am a speech language pathologist with 20 + years experience. I maintain a small private practice in addition to working for a local school district. Mindful speech pathology is just that, mindful. We have to be present and connected to ourselves in order to be able to learn new things and connect them with past experiences. Mindfulness is connecting ourselves in the present moment to what we see, hear, and feel, and smell. Being a mindful speech pathologist means being flexible, listening to the client and maintaining a connection. Mindfulness is an important aspect of speech and language therapy especially in children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and other learning disabilities. We are a multi-practitioner office of speech-language pathologists. All of our SLP associates are registered by the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHHPBC). Our friendly and skilled therapists will work with you to meet your communication goals.

BCASLPA believes in the importance of providing treatment to individuals of all ages who may experience problems with their speech, language, hearing, voice, swallowing, stuttering, or social communication. We provide educational resources for those wishing to find out more about a wide range of speech-language and hearing disorders, and support advocacy efforts for continued access to these services. The Pacific Voice Clinic is located within the Division of Otolaryngology, Department of Surgery, at Vancouver General Hospital. The clinic is structured around the private laryngology practice of Dr. Murray Morrison, otolaryngologist and the PVCRP activities of Dr. Rammage. Strong linkages have been created with other professionals from psychiatry, respirology, gastro-enterology and neurology.
