In 1948, John M. McKevitt started his trucking business in Schreiber, Ontario with a 1946 two ton Chevrolet truck. By the early 1950's, John had moved his business to Port Arthur, Ontario to work for Northern Wood Preservers and in 1954 began hauling lumber into the USA.In 1960, service expanded to eastern Ontario. This expansion required the establishment of a company terminal in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario which looked after predominantly lumber and steel loads.
