The Iyengar System of Yoga The regular practice of Iyengar yoga leads to optimal physical and mental health. It is named for B.K.S. Iyengar, of Pune, India, who developed, refined and shared this methodology. It uses a precise, systematic approach whereby students learn a series of yoga postures in a well- planned order, and synchronize these postures with their breathing. These yoga postures help to exercise, strengthen, balance and cleanse every system of the body: musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, immune, digestive, nervous and respiratory.
