We have hit the road running... literally! Our Cross Country Running Team has already had one race. The Legorobotics Club is meeting weekly. Students ran loops of the track for our Terry Fox Run. Our Book Fair and Open House were very well attended and it was wonderful to re-connect with everyone. We are looking forward to a great year together.

Alexwe're working on a fun science project at Wintergreen Studios this summer. In the interest of tallying and identifying all the species of plants on our land, we're constructing a herbarium. A herbarium is essentially a library of plants, a vast collection that catalogs the species composition in our surrounding area. Debra Lefebvre, a Canadian Registered Nurse and mother of four young children, travelled to Uganda in 2004. Debra witnessed the senseless loss of life and poverty caused by malaria, a disease spread through the bite of an infected female anopheles mosquito. Debra decided to take action. That year, Debra launched Buy-a-Net Malaria Prevention Group. Buy-a-Net's first net distribution occurred in the spring of 2006, in the village of Katoogo in Uganda.
