Dr. Ewen graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Doctor of Optometry degree, where he received the Canadian Association of Optometrists award of merit for his service as class President for the four year term. Since graduation he has practiced across all of Australia and much of Canada before settling down in Martensville where the dream of Doctors Vision Care took shape.

The Legislative Committee of the Saskatchewan College of Opticians, and its legal counsel, appeared in Provincial Court in Regina, Sask on February 20th., 2014 to argue charges that were filed by the SCO on July 11, 2012, against Costume Emporium, for the illegal dispensing of contact lenses.
